We just had to create a list of Bridgerton gifts to whet your Regency appetities, as here at Inspired Gift Ideas we are all a flutter over the Netflix series, the Bridgertons.
Bridgerton gifts are an excellent idea for any special occasion. Escape lockdown by entering a world of romance, colour and intrigue. We feature some ideas inspired by the TV series, as well as the books that the series was based on.
Welcome to the Bridgertons.
Bridgerton gifts inspired by the Netflix series
A mug with a Lady Whistledown quote on it. “Men are sheep. Where one goes, the rest will soon follow.”
We love this cute Bridgerton gift idea and what better way to lose yourself in writing and gossip than in a journal?
A sweet, value for money gift.
A pretty necklace that combines the infinity symbol, a rose and the bee. Have you spotted the Bees in Bridgertons? We have and we know why they are featured!
We love this Lady Whistledown T Shirt. It comes in grey or pink and a variety of sizes.
Alternatives include a hoodie, vest T Shirt and a sweatshirt.
A great kit to get beginners started on this very refined hobby. The kit comes with everything you need to create three lovely pieces.
A journal to record your on dits just like Eloise and Lady Whistledown. This journal features a Bee on every page. Start scribbling!
There was no electricity in Regency London, so the Bridgertons’ lives were gently lit by candles. Create that same ambiance with this beautiful candle gift set.
This luxurious spa set will add a gentle ambiance to your chum’s life.
Your friend can soak in a candle lit bathroom to relax and pamper herself.
Bridgerton Gifts – Afternoon tea
In both the TV series and the books, the characters drink a lot of tea! So we have compiled a small list of tea accessories so that you and your chum can do afternoon tea a la Bridgerton.
Tea made by a member of the ton, what could possibly be better? The current Viscount Falmouth (the 9th) grows tea on his estate in Cornwall, the first British tea brand.
The 4th Viscount Falmouth would have been a member of the ton in Regency England and had he grown tea back then no doubt the Bridgertons would have enjoyed this lovely blend.
We love this Victorian rose patterned 3 tier cake stand. A perfect centrepiece for your afternoon tea.
This lovely hamper from Cartwright and Butler will get your Bridgerton afternoon tea off to a flying start. Yum yum.
These gorgeous cups and saucers form part of a range that includes tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl and cake stand. We love the vintage pattern, very Bridgerton.
These gorgeous storage canisters feature bees and are made of hard wearing enamel. They are part of a larger set of accessories.
We love the pattern, very Bridgerton.
Bridgerton Gifts – the Books
Julia Quinn is the author behind the Bridgerton phenomenon. She imagined a fiercely loyal family of eight siblings and wrote a book based on each of their love stories. The books are set between 1813 and 1827 and each one focuses on one of the Bridgerton children who were named in alphabetical order. The children are: Anthony (the current Viscount), Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesa, Gregory and Hyacinth.
The stories of the Bridgertons are told against the backdrop of Regency society and shared by an anonymous gossip columnist who writes under the name Lady Whistledown.
The first in the series of eight Bridgerton books and the inspiration for the Netflix series released on Christmas Day 2020. This book follows the story of Daphne Bridgerton and her relationship with the hunky Duke of Hastings.
In the second book in the Bridgerton series we follow the rakish Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton child and current Viscount as he decides to enter the Marriage mart.
Enjoy some laugh out loud moments and the steamy scenes we have come to know and love.
*Spoilers for the next series on Netflix – but do you care?*
And to be honest this our favourite of the Bridgerton gifts, we love this book.
This year’s most sought-after invitation must surely be that of the Bridgerton masquerade ball, to be held Monday next. Will some fortunate young lady use the mystery of a masquerade night to snare one of the eligible bachelors? – Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers, May 1815
Follow the story of Benedict the second Bridgerton son in the third book in the series and learn how the other characters are developing. Enjoy more frolics in the Regency era, with a modern twist.
This book is one of our favourites. We have been rooting for Penelope since the Netflix story and now we can enjoy her story. Colin is the third Bridgerton son and has wanderlust in his blood. Can he settle down and will Penelope finally find love?
And will Lady Whistledown be un-masked?
A great read and excellent Bridgerton gift idea.
Eloise was a confirmed spinster until her best friend, Penelope, married. Now at the ripe old age of 28, and after six marriage proposals, Eloise decided it is her turn for love.
The book starts with a lengthy correspondence and then a spur of the moment decision plunges Eloise into romance and her future.
In every life there is a turning point. A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breath-taking, that one knows one’s life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London’s most infamous bachelor, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.
After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing.
Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca’s surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer – the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin . . .
Hyacinth is the youngest Bridgerton sibling and in the first Netflix series she is still a child. So, some years later we follow her story to love.
“Fiendishly smart, devilishly outspoken and – according to some, particularly Gareth St. Clair – probably best in small doses. But there’s something about her – something charming and vexing – that grabs one and won’t quite let go.”
Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton is a firm believer in true love.
He’d have to be an idiot not to be: all seven of his siblings are happily married. Gregory figures he is just biding his time until the right woman comes along. And so when he sees Hermione Watson, he knows with every fibre of his being, that she is meant to be his.
This is a collection of Julia Quinn’s funny, heart-warming ‘second epilogues,’ which are included at the ends of each novel. This collection also includes a brand new novella about none other than the wise and witty matriarch: Violet Bridgerton herself. So get to know the Bridgertons all over again – because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun . . .
Bridgerton Gifts – The Rokesby Series
Julia Quinn has also written four novels that form a series and are prequels to the Bridgerton Books. They tell the stories of the Rokesby family and the Bridgertons and include our favourite characters such as Anthony and Benedict as children.
There is only one Rokesby Billie Bridgerton absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest heir to the earldom, but he’s arrogant, annoying and she’s absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can’t stand the sight of him, either.
With her brother Thomas injured on the battlefront in the Colonies, orphaned Cecilia Harcourt has two unbearable choices: move in with a maiden aunt or marry a scheming cousin.
Instead, she chooses option three and travels across the Atlantic, determined to nurse her brother back to health. But after a week of searching, she finds not her brother but his best friend, the handsome officer Edward Rokesby.
He’s unconscious and in desperate need of her care, and Cecilia vows that she will save this soldier’s life, even if staying by his side means telling one little lie . . .
Fiercely independent and adventurous, Poppy Bridgerton will only wed a suitor whose keen intellect and interests match her own. Sadly, none of the fools from her London season qualify.
While visiting a friend on the Dorset coast, Poppy is pleasantly surprised to discover a smugglers’ hideaway tucked inside a cave. But her delight turns to dismay when two pirates kidnap her and take her aboard a ship, leaving her bound and gagged on the captain’s bed…
She was given two choices . . .
Georgiana Bridgerton isn’t against the idea of marriage. She’d just thought she’d have some say in the matter. But with her reputation hanging by a thread after she’s abducted for her dowry, Georgie is given two options: live out her life as a spinster or marry the rogue who has ruined her life.
Enter Option #3
As the fourth son of an earl, Nicholas Rokesby is prepared to chart his own course. He has a life in Edinburgh, where he’s close to completing his medical studies, and he has no time – or interest – to find a wife. But when he discovers that Georgie Bridgerton – his literal girl-next-door – is facing ruin, he knows what he must do.
